Thanks to everyone who helped make Homecoming 2026 a positive and memorable experience for our students!
As students return to campus tomorrow morning, in recognition of September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the one-year anniversary of Millie DeClercq's passing, the Millie Moo Foundation has proclaimed Sept 21-26 “Millie’s MOOvement Week!”
Millie “Moo” DeClercq was a precious six-month-old girl from Hillsdale who was full of joy and love. Last September, Millie was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. She fought bravely but lost her battle on September 22, 2025. Although Millie’s life was far too short, the love and joy she brought into the world continues to live on through the Millie Moo Foundation, established by her family and friends. The foundation supports and walks alongside children and families affected by childhood cancer.
All students and staff received a Kindness Pack at the end of last week to help celebrate Millie’s life and spread kindness throughout our school and community. There will be daily kindness activities, along with a passport challenge for students to complete throughout the week! Students should wear their gold Millie Moo wristband throughout the week.
Tuesday, September 22 — GO GOLD 4 KIDS! RHS will “Go GOLD 4 KIDS” on Tuesday! Please wear your Riverdale GOLD on Tuesday to show your support for children battling cancer and their families. As you arrive at school Tuesday morning decked out in GOLD, Interact will have a table where you can enter drawings for Pulse 84 and Cherry Flamingo gift cards!
The week will wrap up with the foundation’s “One More Walk” in downtown Port Byron on Saturday morning. “Chalk the Walk” will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a group walk down Main Street at 11:00 a.m.
RHS and our Rotary-Interact Club are excited to partner with the Millie Moo Foundation to honor Millie’s life and legacy while spreading kindness, raising awareness, and showing our support for children and families affected by childhood cancer.
Let’s make Millie’s MOOvement Week a week of kindness, compassion, and making a difference—one small act at a time!

After last night's big win, a little rain won't keep us from enjoying our Homecoming Dance TONIGHT from 7-10 PM!
1. Basic concessions (drinks and candy) will be available tonight at the Homecoming Dance (Thanks to Boosters for restocking concessions after a busy Friday night!). We have found in previous years that students appreciate having this opportunity to purchase some refreshments at the dance. Most items are $2.
2. Also, once pictures and dinner are done in your dress shoes, please bring some soft-soled shoes that are both gym-floor-friendly and more comfortable for dancing. Dress shoes are not allowed because they cause significant damage to our *new* gym floor.
3. Out of town guests must bring a photo ID to get into the dance (matching the information provided on your out-of-town guest form). All guests must be under 21. All bags are subject to search.
4. Finally, please remember the importance of safe driving and responsible decision making on Homecoming weekend, especially before and after the festivities this evening. Please take care of yourself and each other one good choice at a time. Deputy Rivera and the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department is aware of our Homecoming dance location and times, and they will be out in our area all evening to help keep everyone safe.
See you tonight!
GO RAMS!
