Closing Night for Riverdale Volleyball

On October 23, 2023, the Riverdale Rams Volleyball team hosted regionals at home, as well as October 24th and the 26th. Tuesday the 23rd consisted of the first round games, Wednesday, the second round games and Thursday, the Regional Final. The Riverdale game was at 6:00 on October 23rd, and the Rams faced the Oregon Hawks. Following that game, at 7:00 the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers faced the Morrison Fillies. The Rams played very well against the Hawks, but fell short in two sets, losing 21-25, and 27-29. The team put their best effort into the game, competing the entire time. Since this was a postseason game, this wraps up the 2023 volleyball season for the Rams. Overall, they had a record of 9-21, and a conference record of 4-8. The Varsity Volleyball Team had a great season, making all of their opentens put up a good fight. Senior and Captain, Carrieanne Hungate shares her thoughts about last night’s game and the season; “Despite the struggles our team experienced this year, we didn’t stop competing. Although it was not the ending we wanted, everyone in the program saw significant improvements this season and that is something we are proud of.”
