NHS Bethany Fundraiser

During the week of February 24, the National Honor Society club at Riverdale High School did a fundraiser for “Bethany for Children and Families.” NHS members collected all of the products from the competing first hour classes. Every day, the students brought in specific items designated to the days. Monday was “Multiplier Monday'', students could bring in anything that was on the list and received double points for their class. Tuesday was “Toothcare Tuesday,'' tooth and mouth care items were collected. Wednesday was “Baby”, students brought in diapers, baby wipes, baby wash, and more. Thursday, NHS members collected shower products such as soap, shavers, shampoo, conditioner, and towels. Friday was “Feminine Friday” and students donated womens’ care products.

Mr. Hemm’s first hour class won the fundraiser with almost 400 points. Overall, 133 bars of soap, 51 deodorants, 211 dental hygiene products, 35 flosses and mouthwash, 190 razors, 53 packages of baby wipes and diapers, 5 hand sanitizers, 124 shower items, and more items were collected, along with monetary donations.
