A Night of One Acts

This Riverdale High School play for this spring was, A Night of One Acts. The One Acts were; Our Place by Terry Gabbard, One Stoplight Town by Tracy Wells, and #Viral by Maria McConville. The Riverdale High School performed these one acts on March 28th and 29th at 7 p.m. and March 30 at 2 p.m. The shows all had some meaning behind them to teach the watches while they were watching and laughing! Our Place is about a dock that people go to that they call “Our Place where many of them learn to spend time with their family, or where they learn to say goodbye to their loved ones. One Stoplight Town is about a small town that added a stoplight to one of their “more busier streets”, however the main message is about taking time to know when you need to stop, slow down, or go. Just like the stop light is telling you to. And the last play #Viral is about cyberbullying, and bullying online. A girl is bullied by her friends, then they post the pictures online, then the pictures go “Viral.” Then the school and students have to deal with the consequences of the picture. All of the plays had some deeper meaning to them, which is a good thing for the students and adults watching them.
