Busy Week for Lady Rams Softball
Throughout the week of April 8- 12th, the softball team played four games. They started off the week with their first conference game against Monmouth-Roseville. The Rams took home the win 18-2. Senior, Breckin DeLaRosa, hit two home runs and had four RBIs. Senior Brie DeBlaey led the team with six RBIs. Danika Saddoris, junior, was on the mound and had eight strikeouts, which resulted in her 100th career strikeout.
On Thursday, April 10th, the Riverdale Rams defeated Monmouth-Roseville 3-1. Brie DeBlaey was on the mound for the Rams and had 10 strikeouts, also resulting in her 100th career strikeout. Mya Dalaska, senior, and Amaya Lopez-Hernandez, junior, both led the team with a batting average of .667.
On Saturday, April 12th, the Rams traveled to Marengo to play two games. The first game was against Glenbard South. The Rams walked away with another win, 12-0. Saddoris was on the mound and concluded with seven strikeouts, allowing three hits over five innings. Brooklyn Peterson, a freshman, led the team in batting average with 1.000 with two RBIs. Madi Ketelsen, senior, also helped out with two RBIs. Their second game was against Warren. The Rams came up slightly short after a hard-fought 11-inning game. DeBlaey started the game on the mound and had two strikeouts, and allowed 10 hits over seven innings. Saddoris came in for the extra innings, claiming four strikeouts, allowing three hits. Junior Katie Cox led the team’s batting average with .600, with one RBI. Others claiming RBIs were Lopez-Hernandez, 3, Saddoris, 2, and DeBlaey, 2.
