TRAC Art Festival

The Two Rivers Art Council (TRAC) Art Festival happens annually. A group of Riverdale High School art class students  went to the TRAC Art Festival at Orion High School. Any student could submit art pieces if they were invited to go on the field trip. There were many  other students from  local  schools  who had submitted art as well.  Before the TRAC Art Festival, they went to Augustana College in Rock Island, and they got a presentation and a tour of the campus. They went to the Quad City Botanical Garden tour, for a sketching and watercolor painting activity. Then, they traveled  to Orion to see all of the artwork submitted for the festival.At the festival, there was a student workshop they could stop at. After that, there was an art show for everyone to see, and awards were given to the winners. After awards,the students headed back to Riverdale High School. The students who won awards were Jorie Slone, 1st place in ink marker, Jorie Slone 2nd in Acrylic painting, Nevaeh Wheelan got 2nd in Chalk Pastel, Saren Gellerstedt got 3rd in Charcoal, Yashvi Patel got 3rd in Scratchboard art and got 1st in Textiles. Congratulations to all of the successful art students at Riverdale.
