Perfect Speech!

The talented Riverdale speech finalists, Cael Hinde and Jorie Slone, advanced to state on Friday and Saturday, February 26th & 27th in Peoria Illinois. This perfect duo placed 3rd at sectionals in the Dramatic Duo Acting category on January 12th making them state qualifiers. Alaina Heim, Maggie Kelly, Brody Barrett, Cedrick Urek, Claire Young, Seren Gellerstedt, and Caroline Kreiter, all placed 8th in Performance in the Round. Cael Hind and Cassidy Kline placed 6th in Humorous Duet Acting. Teagan McGenty placed 6th in original comedy and Jorie Slone placed 4th in Poetry Speaking. Nice job to all of the Riverdale speech students who made it to the Sectional tournament in Rochelle! Cael and Jorie were the first Riverdale students to advance to state since 2012. The entire speech team had an amazing year forming tighter bonds and making memories together. Every member contributed to the success of the season and so much hard work and dedication was poured into their performances. The Riverdale community is beyond proud of the speech team’s success this season.
