Riverdale Speaking Rams Take Second
The Riverdale High School Speech team went to United Township in East Moline, Illinois and participated in the Panther Classic. This meet is considered the UT meet as our home meet because of how close it is. The team did an excellent job this week, every event that Riverdale participated in broke finals. Novices, Macy Gitchel and Amelia Rasmussen placed 2nd in Humorous duet acting. The Next-In Finalist were, Ruby McClaine placing 6th in Dramatic Interpretation, Amanda Shadrick placed 6th in Original Oratory, Yashvi Patel placed 5th and Ruthann Leesman placed 2nd in Radio Speaking, Lillian Bitler placed 5th for Humorous Interpretation, Aubrey McGinty placed 4th in Informative Speaking, Ruby McLaine placed 4th and Caitlin Mumma placed 3rd in Oratorical Declamation, and Shelby Hohenadel placed 2nd in Poetry. The duos for Next-In Finals were, Viv Eberhardt and Emery Walston who placed 5th andAlice Schmidt and Miraya Patel who placed 2nd in Humorous Duet Acting. Then, Viv Eberhardt and Shelby Hohenadel placed 3rd in Dramatic Duet Acting. The Speaking Rams had many varsity finalists as well, including: Bella Baltisberger placing 6th in Dramatic Interpretation, Claire Arnold placing 4th in Prose Reading, Trey Stoddard placing 4th and Carter Orr placing 3rd in Impromptu Speaking, Yashvi Patel placing 4th in Special Occasion Speaking, Carter Orr placing 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking, Micheal Kelley placing 1st in Humorous Interpretation and also placing 1st in Original Comedy.Trey Stoddard also placed 1st in Radio Speaking. The duos that placed in finals were Bella Baltisberger and Claire Arnold, placing 1st in Dramatic Duet Acting and Caroline Kreiter and Caitlin Mumma placing 1st in Humorous Duet Acting. Overall Riverdale did exceptionally well, and placed 2nd as a team.
