Speech Talks Their Way to the Top!

On Saturday, January 10th, the Riverdale High School Speech Team competed in Aurora, Illinois, at Waubonsee High School. The Speech team had the earliest morning and longest drive of the season to compete in The Reel Thing Tournament. The Riverdale Speech team had several competitors compete in each event. The teams' Next In Finalists were Alice Schmidt and Miraya Patel in 8th place, performing Humorous Duet Acting; Claire Arnold in 2nd place, Prose Reading; Michael Kelley in 1st place, Humorous Interpretation; and Carter Orr in 1st place, competing in  Impromptu Speaking. And the team’s varsity finals were Michael Kelley, who took 4th place in Original Comedy, and Caitlin Mumma and Caroline Kreiter, who won 4th place in Humorous Duet Acting. The speech team is off to a great start this season!
