Speech Team Success

There were two speech tournaments over the past weekend, January 31st, and the Rams found huge success in both! There was a Galena virtual tournament that took place where 16 competitors took action in recording their performances, and uploading them to a digital platform to be judged! There were many finalists who made their names on the podium such as Ruby McClaine for 3rd Place Oratorical Declamation, Ruthann Leesman placed 2nd for Radio Speaking, while Amanda Shadrick and Trey Stoddard took first place in their respective categories of Original Oratory and Impromptu Speaking.  . There were also past alumni who helped judge the tournament as well including George Young, Cassidy Kline, and Cael Hinde! The second tournament took place in person at the Downers Grove South Tournament. There were a total of 10 Riverdale Speech competitors who went up against the rest of the state’s hottest competitors. Caroline Kreiter and Caitlin Mumma placed 3rd in Finalists for Humorous Duet Acting. Michael Kelly also finished 2nd place in Finalist Original Comedy and 6th Place Varsity Finalist for Humorous Interpretation! Riverdale had an outstanding weekend and will continue to improve on their magnificent season!
