The Rams Are Headed to Sectionals!
On Tuesday, October 28th, the Riverdale Varsity Volleyball Team headed to Rock Falls to play against them in the regional semi-final game. After two sets, the Rams defeated Rock Falls and advanced to regionals. In the first set, they won 26-24, and in the second set they blew them out with a score of 25-16. In the game, senior Kenadie Willemkens led the team in kills with nineteen, and sophomore Lola Wainwright led the team in assists with sixteen. On Thursday, October 30th, the Rams headed back to Rock Falls, going against Erie-Prophetstown in a tough match for the regional championship. Senior, Kamryn Kruger said, “There was no point in the game where I was comfortable. I always knew that at some point they could come back, even when we were beating them by a lot. But after the first set, I knew we had it.” The Rams won the regional championship in two sets. The first set’s score was 25-23 and the second set’s score was 25-19. Senior Kenadie Willemkens led the team again in kills with eight and sophomore Lolo Wainwright again with assists having twelve. The team will go up against Eureka on Tuesday, November 3rd, in the sectional semi-final game at Riverdale High School.
